What is the Single Window?
The China International Trade Single Window is one of the digital processing infrastructures China uses for foreign trade, customs, and related application procedures. It aims to unify application processes that were previously handled separately by different government agencies into a single digital entry point.
Relationship with CIFER
CIFER (the overseas food producer registration system) is one of the systems accessed through the Single Window infrastructure. When a producer or competent authority submits a registration application through CIFER, that application proceeds within the Single Window's overall digital processing framework.
Practical meaning for users
For Turkish producers and exporters, the Single Window is less a direct "application portal" and more the digital backbone of the process. What matters in practice:
- Correctly determining which application should be made through which system/screen.
- Ensuring document upload formats and mandatory fields are up to date with current requirements.
- Regularly tracking the application status — responding quickly to deficiency notices shortens the application period.
Common difficulties
- The technical nature of the interface and terminology creates a learning curve for producers applying for the first time.
- Document upload steps are periodically updated; failing to keep up with the current process can cause delays.
- If the user account and authorization (producer / exporter / competent authority roles) are not set up correctly, the application will not progress.
